About this opportunity 

The Director of Strategic Business Development is accountable to develop new ideas Align and specifically the U.S. Market.  They are responsible for leading a team focused on knowing the various customer types intimately, their sales counterparts and expanding the consumer funnel via new innovative channels.

 

This role will require a candidate to have exceptional skills in influencing a cross functional team in the early stages of developing of a new program at Align.

 

This includes a strong understating of how to approach new business idea development: Including the ability to gather customer insights, identify problems worth solving or opporutnity for new business solutions, and turning the ideas into conceptual programs that can be tested and validated. This leader will help to operationalize and determine the right execution strategy for integrating new strategic programs and other marketplace development activities.

 

In addition, this person needs to have a strong understanding of how a sales organization works, what the motivators are and where a busienss development team can bring value.  

 

All new ideas/programs developed by this leader and their team will need to focus on expanding the funnel of consumers into Invisalign treatment.  They also need to find ways to strengthen the value proposition Align offers our doctor base both current and future.

 

In this role, you will… 

  • Coach and develop direct reports with various skill sets, backgrounds and focus areas – Sales, Marketing, Design, Implementation, Training, Business Optimization. 
  • Clearly defines roles & responsibilities for various stakeholders within early program development stages that are not directly reporting to you.
  • Work closely with the head of commercialization to form strong pilot program approach with a deeper plan on large scale adoption for align.
  • Ability to develop business cases that support new ideas moving into Pilot stage with a promise to deliver value to the organization.
  • High proficiency in multitasking, being responsible for managing multiple focus areas and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to shift focus and quickly adapt to changing priorities within the company.
  • Needs to act with consideration of time and makes decisions that keeps the process moving forward at an appropriate pace.
  • Develop and nurture effective relationships with our largest customers in order to drive growth and further brand adoption.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective internal relationships across cross functional business units; ensuring senior leadership is engaged and appraised of key account strategy and development updates.

In this role, you’ll need … 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 12+ years of Overall Applicable Experience
  • Management & Leadership Experience Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and project management software
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with convergent timelines
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Collaborative and able to work across multiple discipline teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Willingness to work outside regular business hours
  • Ability to travel depending on company, department or project requirements. Travel may be required up to 50%.
