Join NTRO’s Structures team. The role can be based in either Melbourne or Brisbane and is suitable for a Principal Structural Engineer who is experienced in the design and analysis of transportation structures. Focused on delivering key bridge and transportation structures asset projects to clients across private and public sector.
In this role you will be a key leader within the Structures team, who will influence project design and project delivery by utilising your technical expertise. This role requires you to work independently whilst managing your workload on several projects at different stages of completion. You must be a confident communicator, as the role will be client facing, involved in developing new business and managing various stakeholders.
We are seeking an individual who is keen to be a part of ARRB’s future and who will be a key team member contributing to the delivery of local, State, National and International projects and initiatives.
The Skills And Experience Required For The Role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with 10+ years of bridge / infrastructure experience across road, rail and/or marine with sound knowledge of structural behaviour, design of transport infrastructure and asset management.
- Proficient in technical report writing and advanced verbal / presentation communication skills.
- Highly skilled in the design of transportation structures. Road bridges and related structures required with rail and port structures highly desired.
- Passionate in developing, contributing and researching projects related to structures, construction advice and maintenance of road and rail infrastructure.
- Experience in the preparation of bids, proposals.
- Practical experience in the strategic review, assessment and program development for bridge and structures networks.
- Ability of building and maintaining client relationships and stakeholder management experience is desirable.
- Take responsibility for decision making on delivery of projects to agreed output, budget, quality and time.
- Proactive and flexible in dealing with various clients e.g. government bodies and recycling industry bodies
- Well-developed collaboration skills, demonstrated experience in working with experts/professionals from multiple business/disciplinary areas
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to simplify communication for complex problems
- Research experience highly desirable.
- Professional registration (MIEAust, RPEQ, CPEng, NER)
