(Contingent upon available funding): 0.00 – 0.00, Commensurate with education and experience Work Schedule: 8am to 5pm nights and weekends as scheduled Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: The Assistant Athletic Director Marketing and Fan Engagement will lead and continuously improve strategy development, organization, scheduling, internal communication, and execution of marketing plans forOSUFootball or Mens Basketball, and Student All Sports Passes (or other sports & programs as determined in collaboration with supervisor) while overseeing the same for allOSUAthletics sports and programs. To help with these efforts, this position will serve as the primary point of contact for all marketing & gameday elements with sport program reps (coaches, operations directors, student-athletes, sport administrators, etc.), Creative Services, Advertising & Sales, Orange Power Studios (videoboard), Sponsorships,OSUSpirit, mascots,OSUCowboy Marching Band, student spirit & leadership organizations,OSUAlumni Association,OSUcampus leadership, and others. This position will lead the Marketing & Fan Engagement team of full-time employees and part-time student interns, in coordination with the Associate AD, in developing and executing marketing plans for allOSUAthletics programs. It will develop, document, and implement robust full- and part-time talent sourcing, identification, & training programs, set goals, ensure optimal marketing touchpoint quality, quantity, and timeliness, assist with marketing event presentation strategies to enhance awareness, interest, and the fan experience, and provide frequent feedback and accountability to promote growth. The position and its team will also work with Fanalytics & Business Intelligence to develop strategies, monitor performance, conduct and respond to market research (especially fan surveys), and continuously improve fan experience, retention, awareness, interest, and sales efforts. This position will also be heavily involved with yield strategy development including pricing, packaging, policies, points & incentive programs, and schedules (on-sale dates, etc.) and storytelling strategy development including branding, advertising, social media, and sales. This unit also oversees execution and growth of otherOSUAthletics events and operations, including the Student Athlete Mixer, theOSUBlock Party, and other duties as assigned. Performance will be measured by growth in the teams scoreboard metrics of crowd noise, total attendance, ticket utilization rate, and fan experience survey ratings, along with retention, sales, and revenue as the position and its team pursues the team mission: Produce Americas Rowdiest Atmospheres and most fun events. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
Five years of experience in college athletics marketing & event presentation
Proven ability to drive growth in crowd noise, attendance, and sales by relentlessly developing and executing innovative and creative ways to enhance the fan experience and market sport programs.
Must be able to run show control, including developing run-of-show.
High energy & production output, creativity, proactivity, and openness to experimentation with humility to learn from unsuccessful initiatives are required for success in this role.
Must be able to lead, organize, inspire, and drive a team of full time and part time employees, including students.
Ability to create graphics to supplement or edit those built by Creative Services team
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree
Three to five years experience in NCAA Division I athletics marketing/promotions or University experience.
