Senior Director, HR Operations

 

About the Role

The Senior Director of HR Operations will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing our global HR operational functions, including HR Systems (HRIS), HR Data & Analytics, and core HR processes. This role is critical in building scalable, efficient, and compliant HR operations that support our global workforce. The successful candidate will leverage technology, data, and process improvement methodologies to enhance the employee experience, enable data-driven decision-making, and ensure operational excellence across the employee lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

Overall Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop and execute the HR Operations strategy, aligning it with the overall HR and business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across HR Operations, HRIS, and HR Analytics functions.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data integrity within the HR function.
  • Collaborate closely with other HR leaders (e.g., HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development) to ensure seamless service delivery and integrated HR programs.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and other departments on cross-functional initiatives and system integrations.
  • Manage the HR Operations budget effectively, optimizing resources and investments.

HR Operations:

  • Oversee all core HR operational processes from hire to retire, including onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, leave administration, immigration and HR policy implementation.
  • Ensure HR processes are compliant with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations across multiple countries.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation for key HR operational activities.
  • Focus on enhancing the employee and manager experience through streamlined and user-friendly processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships for key operational services (e.g background checks, EORs, immigration)

HR Information Systems (HRIS):

  • Serve as the primary owner and strategist for the HR systems roadmap in close partnership with the IS team.
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the core HRIS and other related HR technology platforms.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new HR technology solutions to support evolving business needs.
  • Ensure data integrity, system security, and compliance within all HR systems.
  • Manage relationships with HRIS vendors and ensure effective system support and updates.

HR Data & Analytics:

  • Build and mature the HR analytics capability, establishing key HR metrics and dashboards to provide actionable insights to the business.
  • Develop reporting standards and capabilities to support HR Business Partners and business leaders with workforce data analysis.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of HR data to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and inform strategic workforce planning.
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance with data protection regulations
  • Champion the use of data to drive informed decision-making across the HR function and the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in HR Operations, HRIS, or HR Technology roles.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading HR process improvement initiatives and implementing HR technology solutions in a global environment.
  • Deep expertise in HRIS administration and optimization, experience with SuccessFactors is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of HR data, analytics, and reporting best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of HR compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
