Reports To: TDC Executive Director
Classification: Salaried, Exempt
SUMMARY
The Director of Development will be responsible to plan and implement a development and fundraising program to provide for the short and long-term needs for the Tulsa Dream Center (TDC). The Director of Development oversees all grants, fundraising, and manages relationships with financial partners. The duties include planning fundraising events, interacting with current and former donors to encourage ongoing contributions, and seeking out opportunities for financial support through new networks of donors, grants, and sponsorships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with TDC leadership to determine the mission, purpose, and priorities.
  • Works closely with the Grants Administrator to communicate and provide copies of all approved grants and all necessary information allowing the Grants Administrator to ensure timely reporting and compliance with all terms and conditions of each approved grant.
  • Develop and organize all aspects of TDC’s fundraising programs.
  • Research and identify potential grants, donors and sponsors and implement strategies to foster positive relationships.
  • Establish fundraising objectives as well as, setting short-term and longer-term goals.
  • Research donation programs and grant opportunities available through like-minded foundations, businesses, and agencies.
  • Create reports post-event to analyze data and determine the marketing effectiveness for the fundraising program.
  • Oversee department and inter-department meetings to plan milestones and requirements of all teams within the specific program regarding fundraisers.
  • Establish and maintain friendly communications with donors and/or sponsors.
  • Create print marketing materials related to fundraising by working closely with the Media team.
  • Maintains a list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals.
  • Produces relevant and informative fundraising literature and reports for distribution to donors and the public.
  • Oversees the fundraising process and maintains records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
  • Plans fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of TDC.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for helping lead TDC in a manner that supports and guides the TDC’s direction and mission.
  • Providing all information necessary for Tulsa Dream Center leadership to make informed decisions.
  • Meet with senior management to gauge business needs and brainstorm ideas for fundraising programs for the coming year.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Relations, Communications, or other appropriate related field required.
  • Certification as a Fundraising Professional or other applicable professional certifications/memberships helpful but not required.
  • Five years of experience in fundraising for a nonprofit organization highly preferred.
  • Must be proficient with computers and administrative process management.
  • The ability to work independently, identifying resources and make independent decisions.
  • Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • The ability to multitask between projects and needs.
  • Positive customer-oriented attitude and professional image.
  • Willingness to work some weekend days and have a flexible schedule that varies by season of the year.
