The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati, a small but dynamic team of 9, is seeking a part-time Accounting Manager to provide accounting and finance support to the organization. The primary responsibilities of this position will be monthly and year-end close, reconciling account balances, management of grants and account payables and assistance with audit and tax return preparation. These responsibilities are estimated at 20-25 hours per week. Leading candidates for the position will be goal-oriented and confident professionals with a strong accounting background. Candidates will also pay outstanding attention to detail, have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work independently.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Manage the monthly and year-end close process, general ledger, cash, accounts and grant payable, and payroll functions. Annual operating, grant and programming expenses total $27.5 million.
· Prepare and post monthly standard and nonstandard journal entries
· Reconcile month end general ledger balances, such as cash, grants payments and prepaid expenses
· Record grant payments and update grants management system accordingly
· Prepare supporting documentation for audited financial statements and the tax return
· Assist the CFO in reviewing grantee financial information and preparing mission-related financial reports for Trustees and Staff
· Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
· Complete tasks with accuracy and timeliness
· Help with special projects as needed

Required Qualifications
· Business or Accounting degree mandatory; CPA a plus
· Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in an accounting role
· Familiarity with or training in nonprofit finance and accounting regulations
- Strong bookkeeping and financial reporting skills
· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Understanding of accounting and database software applications
· Possess a natural attention to detail
· Excellent analytical skills
Compensation & Benefits
This is a part-time position, primarily working onsite in Cincinnati Ohio.
· Hourly rate: $40 to $50, commensurate with experience
