HR Programme Director

We are supporting the COO of a leading financial services group in delivering a multi-year transformation programme. As part of this strategic shift to a customer-centric, product-led operating model, a new opportunity has been created for an HR Programme Director.

This is a permanent role via Robert Walters Consultancy, with an initial onsite engagement for a minimum of 18 months. The broader programme is expected to run over the next 3-4 years.

The role will play a pivotal part in leading the people transformation agenda-shaping and delivering enterprise-wide organisational change with a focus on workforce planning, culture, capability development and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the people transformation strategy in alignment with a product-led operating model
  • Drive organisational redesign, workforce transitions, and embed new ways of working
  • Develop and oversee upskilling, reskilling, redeployment, and redundancy plans
  • Collaborate with Product, Finance, and Risk functions to align people initiatives with wider business strategy and regulatory requirements
  • Influence and guide executive leadership through cultural and behavioural change
  • Provide governance and structure across HR transformation programmes, ensuring successful delivery

Key Experience & Skills:

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale HR transformation programmes within complex, regulated environments
  • Expertise in organisational design, workforce planning and change management
  • High emotional intelligence, with the ability to support individuals and teams through ambiguity
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at senior leadership level
  • Ability to operate strategically while driving hands-on delivery
  • Experience in financial services or similarly regulated sectors is preferred
