Description Of Work

The Assistant Director of Administration is a vital member of the Children’s Center leadership team and provides direction and guidance to the teachers, staff, student workers, community, and parents.

As the Assistant Director of Administration, you will:

  • Serve as a mentor to staff by making recommendations which would encourage learning experiences and supporting communication with coaches.
  • Lead and manage the student staff program by facilitating the onboarding process; review applications, schedule and facilitate interviews, extend contingent offers of employment and complete the necessary pre-employment and employment paperwork process.
  • Manage weekly schedules and staffing needs, continually make adjustments to ensure the appropriate child/staff ratios are met.
  • Ensures that all staff has completed necessary training as determined by licensing or accreditation bodies and provides necessary trainings as needed. Assist with daily operational needs and serve as resource with the Director is out of the office.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and helpful manor to all visitors, parents, community members and staff at the Children’s Center, answer inquiries and problem solve concerns.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field. Education must include at least 36 credit hours of Early Childhood Education related credits.
  • 3 year of teaching in an early childhood program and 1 year of supervising staff.
  • Must have experience and proficiency with basic computer software such as word processing, spreadsheet, publication software, data entry, internet and email.
  • Knowledge of early childhood developmental care.
  • Excellent communication skills that can be tailored to children, co-workers, parents, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills that include the ability to lead a classroom of children and student staff while making independent decisions and solving problems in a dynamic environment.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal relationship, telephone, customer service, and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of teaching in an early childhood program along with 3 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with “Teaching Strategies Gold” software preferred.
  • Scheduling and CACFP experience.
  • Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation and ( DHHS ) Child Care licensing requirements/regulations.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools; ERS & CLASS
  • Knowledge of Creative Curriculum.

Posted Salary $48,000/yr. minimum
