Chief Growth Officer
The Chief Growth Officer will be instrumental in strengthening, expanding, and delivering results within the National Security and Innovative Solutions sector. This executive will drive the strategic vision, lead capture efforts, and enhance business development for existing customers while cultivating new relationships across the National Security community.
The successful candidate will work very closely with peers across the enterprise, including the senior leadership team at the corporate level, and functional support organizations. The ability to drive growth, build relationships and teams, as well as actively portray technology solution offerings is essential. This individual will possess extensive market awareness within the Defense and intelligence sectors, leveraging Cryptic Vector’s core expertise in Offensive Cyber Operations and ISR capabilities.
The critical attributes for the Chief Growth officer will include:
- Proven leadership in driving growth and managing a healthy portfolio in the DoD & Intel customer space.
- Expertise with applications and consultative, solutions-selling framework.
- Strong ability to develop pricing and proposal efforts geared towards >$30M captures.
- Implementation of KPIs and metrics for pipeline development and new business.
- Success in building and leveraging BD teams and maintaining customer intimacy.
- Alignment with sales and marketing teams to create synergy.
Key Responsibilities
At a macro level, the key responsibilities of the Chief Growth Officer, will provide effective leadership and bring extensive technical and managerial experience in all facets of leading the Business Unit.
- Building and leading the business development team, serving as both a strategic and tactical voice on the leadership team. Managing the full life cycle of business development activities, including strategic planning, bid and proposal management, target identification, capture strategies, proposal management, contract award, and customer relations.
- Establishing critical linkages between the long-term strategic plan and near-term business actions, collaborating with the CEO, Senior Leaders and Enlightenment Capital to optimize business development resources.
- Collaborating with functional counterparts across the organization to ensure winning solutions are presented to customers, positioning the company for strategic campaigns.
- Drive high performance standards across the operation – develop great talent and identify/implement programs for filling any gaps that may exist to drive growth.
- Advising on key customer plans and providing expertise in strategic planning, competitive intelligence, market analysis, and M&A strategy.
- Contributing to leadership by providing guidance and counsel on operational issues in partnership with peers from contracts, finance, human resources, and technology.
- Creative business solutions to meet customer requirements across diverse technologies, delivery, and pricing models.
- Leverage existing relationships to: (1) enhance execution and support organic growth across strategic programs (2) Identify and qualify new business opportunities.
- Display the highest level of ethics and character in all his/her actions. This executive will win the respect of and motivate the overall company team as they too adjust to the leadership transition.
- Successfully manage change and adversity in an evolving business
Requirements
Core Abilities and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of business development and strategy support for the federal government, specifically within the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.
- Active TS clearance required.
- Proven track record of winning large-scale, competitive acquisitions in the company’s core market strengths.
- Deep domain experience in CNO & OCO.
- Experience growing, mentoring, and leading sales/BD organizations.
- Strategic insight and execution across the entire capture process, including experience with various contract types and OTAs.
- Ability to build win-win partnerships externally with customers and internally within the company, emphasizing technology differentiators.
- Ability to identify emerging business trends and provide strategy recommendations to senior management.
- Constructive influence and interaction at the highest levels of the corporate structure, including investor level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, inspiring confidence and providing business development leadership.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Technology, or a related field.
- Strong background in growth management (experience managing >$50M businesses)
