Construction Director

Job Title: Construction Director Location: Slough, United Kingdom We are working with a leading global Data Centre owner and operator, who are seeking an experienced Construction Director to oversee the delivery of a brand new Data Centre project in Slough. This is an exciting opportunity to join a major player in the Data Centre space and gain exposure to working with some of the largest end users in the world. Role Overview: As the Construction Director, you will have complete ownership of the Data Centre project in Slough, shaping the entire supply chain from conception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering hyperscale Data Centre projects across Europe and possess strong leadership and management skills. Main responsibilities: Project Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the project team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Supply Chain Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and suppliers, to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services. Budget and Cost Management: Oversee budget planning and management for the project, monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures where necessary. Quality Control: Implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards of construction and workmanship are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery, proactively implementing solutions to minimize disruptions. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress and milestones to ensure deadlines are met. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards, implementing measures to promote a safe working environment for all project stakeholders. Team Management: Lead, motivate, and mentor a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture. Reporting and Communication: Provide regular progress updates to senior management and stakeholders, communicating any issues or challenges and proposing solutions. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and optimize performance. Qualifications and Experience: At least 15 years of relevant professional and project delivery experiences from a client perspective and/or in construction in a multi-site Data Centre portfolio Major project management experience in challenging environments – greater than £100m – as lead PM or Project Director of multi-professional teams and projects and leadership of vendors inc. Architect, Engineers, Contractors Knowledge of construction and capital projects strategy, markets, customers, and supply chain in region of several projects including Data Centres in all forms of contract and administration Communication and collaboration skills
