Position Overview
A leading U.S.-based industrial products and services firm with multiple strategic locations and fast-growing company is seeking a Regional Controller to oversee financial operations across its West Coast region—from Alaska to Arizona. This highly visible role aligns directly with the President of the company’s largest business unit and functions as a strategic financial partner and operational leader. The ideal candidate brings a robust blend of financial acumen, leadership, and systems optimization to support an evolving and growing enterprise.
This is not a traditional controller position. The successful candidate will operate as a Junior CFO, business strategist, and operational transformer who can communicate at all levels of the organization and directly influence business direction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnership
- Collaborate with business leadership to drive financial strategy and performance.
- Lead monthly financial P&L reviews, representing the West Coast region in executive and board-level presentations.
- Act as a key thought partner in identifying growth opportunities, addressing margin concerns, and optimizing operational costs.
Accounting & Finance Leadership
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations across multiple operating companies (OPCOs) and field offices.
- Manage a team including staff and cost accountants; oversee shared service administrative functions.
- Own P&L responsibility and ensure alignment with corporate financial objectives.
Process & Systems Improvement
- Reimagine and streamline financial processes to reduce redundancies and enhance automation.
- Support enterprise-wide ERP (SAGE) integration efforts, consolidating multiple systems into a centralized structure.
- Implement internal controls and quality metrics to support financial accuracy and efficiency.
Operational & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Support tax, audit, and payroll functions.
- Conduct job cost and WIP (Work in Progress) reconciliations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA certification highly desirable.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or controller-level role.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations or regional business units.
- Familiarity with industrial sectors such as Aerospace, Maritime, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong FP&A and P&L management background.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAGE preferred), including system consolidations or migrations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial modeling.
Leadership & Communication
- Executive presence with the ability to present to board members and private equity stakeholders.
- Comfortable leading conversations around business planning and problem-solving.
- Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.

Salary: $165,000 – $185,000 Annual
