What’s it all about?

The Fintech Business Development team belongs to Visa’s organization that works with clients. The team’s role is to find, sign, and oversee partnerships and projects with Fintech and non-traditional FI segments in the Central European region. The team covers both business development and relationship management areas. The culture is very cooperative in a dynamic environment.

The leader of Fintech/ non-traditional FIs will have the responsibility to shape the CE Fintech/ non-traditional FI strategy and implementation in the markets and will drive interactions, partnerships, and market activities with the Fintech ecosystem in Central Europe.

Moreover, this role will be dedicated to encouraging collaboration between Fintechs and existing Visa clients, helping clients to stand out in the market through partnerships with Fintechs and Visa. These objectives will require working with various cross functional Visa teams to bring the best of Visa, including Sales, Products, Commercial and Money Movement Solutions, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Client Services, and Marketing. The role will collaborate closely with CE Country Manager and support the countries scorecard. Visa’s vision and strategic pillars will be the basis of the strategic plans and output.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • You will need to work with different Visa teams that bring the best of Visa, such as Sales, Products, Commercial and Money Movement Solutions, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Client Services, and Marketing. 
  • Develop the CE Fintech/ non-trad. FI Strategy and enable a successful program- and project management to drive Visa Fintech/ non-trad. FI Strategy for all Central European markets
  • Engage with the Central European Fintech/non-trad. FI/ Embedded Finance ecosystem
  • Continuously drive market development through scouting and sourcing of emerging players across markets
  • Support key client engagements, including independently owning partnerships across markets
  • Drive market research, workshops and client projects on Fintech, non-trad. FIs, Embedded Finance & Innovation
  • Deliver an exceptional experience with Visa for partners by understanding their needs and working across the Visa solutions stack
  • Continuously review market landscape, identifying partnership opportunities and solution offerings that will position Visa as the market leader
  • Absorb new topics and concepts quickly and act as subject matter expert on Fintech for both internal and external forums
  • Identify, analyze, recommend and govern the execution of major value creating opportunities
  • Assess and recommend opportunities to invest, develop partnerships or introduce new capabilities to Visa or the ecosystem
  • Ensure strong collaboration across functional teams locally, regionally and globally
  • Represent Visa in applicable fintech, startup event, panels – further build Visa Fintech community incl. Roundtable etc.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

This role requires you to have various professional and technical skills. The ideal candidate will be an organized, curious, logical thinker with outstanding communication and sales skills and a keen interest in how partnerships and initiatives are created and implemented.

  • Crucially, the role holder is focused on the client and solving complex problems.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in payments, banking or fintech
  • Strong knowledge of payments and Fintech space
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership
  • Knowledge of regional market, competitive landscape and related dynamics
  • Excellent leadership skills, ideally experience in leading cross market teams
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Strong experience in C Level Management (internal, external)
  • Track record of implementing strategic partnerships/ initiatives with efficiency, professionalism and with demonstrated trouble shooting/problem solving skills, negotiation skills
  • Ability to coordinate internal and external resources and nurture cross functional relationships, including in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to “ramp-up” quickly, manage multiple workstreams at the same time, and work with sense of urgency
  • Organizational abilities to influence, negotiate and drive results, quality output
  • Embrace change and ambiguity in an ecosystem that is rapidly evolving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and German)
