Responsible for the collaborative execution of a comprehensive and integrated HR strategy for Wesco Anixter in the APAC region. Liaising with leadership across business units and supply chain / operations, you will ensure the execution of Wesco Anixter’s HR strategies that support business and transformation objectives and positively engage the workforce. You will work with leaders in multiple countries in APAC and engage with Human Resources, commercial, and supply chain/operations executives outside the region in a matrixed management organization structure. Advises and coaches leadership on all human resources issues with broad and current subject matter knowledge. Provides primary human resources leadership for the region through the employee life cycle of attraction, selection, development, and retention. Evaluates human resources processes and strategies to determine improvements to be made and reports findings to senior management. Manages and develops the Human Resources team in the APAC region.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with business leaders to create an inclusive, high performing culture that recognizes and values diversity and leads to positive employee engagement.
- Works with leaders on organizational design initiatives to optimize organization effectiveness. Help leaders introduce change and support employees during the change. Partners with the COE on talent development initiatives.
- Maintains awareness of trends and issues in human resources using metrics to make recommendations to business leaders.
- Oversees and directs the HR team implementing HR programs in the region including performance management, salary increases, succession planning, benefit renewals and payroll administration.
- Develops talent acquisition strategy and oversees recruitment and selection activities for assigned the region.
- Leads, develops, and mentors direct reports and builds a high functioning integrated team.
- Advises managers on complex disciplinary, grievance, termination, leave, flexible working, CBA and performance management cases in accordance with local laws and requirements. Works with legal on employment litigation matters. Coaches business leaders on HR matters ensuring compliance with company policies and local employment laws.
- Represents the company with auditors, labor inspectors, employment regulators, immigration department and labor doctors.
- Leads project work, manages workload, escalations and prioritization in region.
- Maintains awareness of Industry CBA requirements and employment law changes across the region. Experience hiring and managing employees working at customer sites.
Negotiates collective bargaining agreements and works to support positive labor-management relations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field required; master’s degree in business, HR, or related field preferred.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible HR Generalist experience, including at least 5 years of management experience across the APAC region with multi-country, matrix, and geographically dispersed employees.
- Mergers and Acquisitions and integration experience is desirable.
- Industry exposure to technology / data centers and B-2-B distribution is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of all functional areas of HR, including region-specific employment law, immigration, labor relations, compliance, payroll, benefits, compensation, performance management, succession planning, and talent acquisition.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and HR Services.
- Demonstrated experience in building collaborative business partnerships with commercial and supply chain/operations leaders and Human Resources colleagues.
- Ability to influence all levels of management on human capital issues and translate strategy into results.
- Experience consulting with executive levels of management to determine viable solutions to complex problems in a matrix corporate environment.
- Flexibility to work outside of core hours when required and as permitted by law.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage with all levels of employees, including executives, sales teams and employees on the warehouse floor.
- Excellent project management skills, and ability to execute large-scale initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment.
- High level of English proficiency and, if applicable, fluency in local language.
- Demonstrated skills and ability to successfully work with a wide range of national cultures, cultural experience, versatility and proficiency.
