Summary
The Director of Consumer Insights will lead research initiatives across our portfolio of brands. This role will be responsible for building and owning the in-house consumer insights function—from designing methodologies and frameworks to executing and overseeing research related to brand equity, consumer profiles, brand perception etc. You’ll combine hands-on, scrappy approaches (e.g., quick-turn surveys, qualitative interviews) with larger-scale studies and partnerships with research agencies when needed. Your work will inform brand positioning, marketing direction, and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive consumer insights function.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to deeply understand target consumers, brand DNA, awareness, equity, positioning, and emotional resonance as well as to inform key decision on strategic corporate initiatives.
- Translate brand and business questions into actionable research plans and insights.
- Execute nimble, cost-effective research methods (e.g., surveys, focus groups, intercept interviews, online communities) and identify when to scale up with external partners or agencies.
- Build and manage relationships with external research vendors and agencies; select appropriate partners based on project needs and budgets.
- Develop research roadmaps and insights frameworks that are adaptable across brands and functions.
- Synthesize insights into clear, strategic recommendations for marketing, innovation, operations and management.
- Track key brand health metrics (e.g., awareness, consideration, perception) and deliver regular reports and dashboards.
- Evangelize the voice of the consumer across the organization and integrate consumer thinking into all major business decisions.
- Serve as an internal expert on research methodology and best practices; train or support cross-functional partners as needed.
- Present findings & insights to leadership team.
Pay Range: $105,000-$135,000

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Business, or related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related role.
- Deep knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools.
- Proven track record of designing and executing insights strategies that directly influence brand or business decisions.
- Strong vendor management experience and ability to select, brief, and manage research agencies.
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills; able to distill complex data into meaningful, actionable insights.
- Highly collaborative, strategic thinker who can balance scrappy execution with high-level vision.
