Another Source’s client, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), is recruiting a Director of Disability Services to join their Student Affairs team on-site in Rochester, New York. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director of Disability Services provides strategic vision, compliance leadership, and operational oversight for disability access and support. You’ll be at the forefront of designing inclusive systems and guiding faculty, staff, and campus leaders toward a more accessible, student-centered RIT experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage the Accessibility and Disability Services Office team, department budget, and student data systems.
- Partner with campus leaders to embed accessibility in strategic planning, services, and facilities.
- Act as the university’s primary advisor on accessibility and disability compliance (ADA, Section 504, NYS laws).
- Collaborate with faculty to develop learning environments that are inclusive and pedagogically sound.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies to inform data-driven decisions and service enhancements.
- Lead and continuously improve the accommodation process for students with disabilities.
- Design and lead campus training around disability law, inclusive practices, and accessibility tools.
- Serve on key committees and lead initiatives to advance RIT’s institutional accessibility goals.
- Engage in professional development and represent RIT in external disability networks.
What You’ll Bring
- Master’s degree in higher education, special education, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in higher education disability services.
- Deep knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and New York State disability law.
- Experience managing accommodations, working with confidential data, and leading teams.
- Skilled at translating complex accessibility issues to diverse audiences, especially academic leadership.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and alternate formats.
- Appreciation for Deaf culture and/or willingness to learn ASL.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of management experience.
- ASL fluency.
- Certification in disability services.
- Experience in strategic planning and program assessment.
Salary Range
$68,800–$115,200 annually. RIT considers scope of role, candidate experience, internal equity, and market data when making offers.
