Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Director of Events to join the Club Events Department. The Director of Events will have involvement in all aspects of major club functions including club events, private, member parties, major and minor golf events, and more. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute planning meetings, BEO’s and Critical Paths for all events to include floor plans, and timeline of event.
- Partner with the F&B Director to
- Keep departmental managers and staff aware of functions, changes and expectations, through clear and frequent communication.
- Plan and conduct the weekly Events Meeting.
- Establish relationships with Members and encourage additional catering revenue.
- Uphold events and catering obligations related to the Events budget.
- Quote prices (furniture, rentals, photographer, music, flowers, decorations, A/V, decorations) and formulate contracts detailing services to be provided.
- Ensure contracts/agreements for each event are signed prior to ordering any event items.
- In tandem with Member Services, responsible for the sales, marketing and promotion of all Member and Guest private events, functions and activities, ensuring that all Member/Guest expectations are exceeded, Member Retention goals are met and that Private Party and Member Relations plans are achieved.
- Maintains a master calendar of events, in conjunction with Member Services.
- Supervises set-ups, breakdowns, and quality of service at all events.
- Field any Member or Guest questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Work with Food & Beverage Management in the requisitioning of staff and scheduling for events, catering and banquets. In addition, will need to requisition contract labor staff from time to time.
- Develops event budgets; reviews financial reports and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
- Ensure all events are billed accurately and chits are turned in immediately.
- Build, manage and lead a team of event professionals.
- Additional duties as agreed upon for the Club.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Business, Marketing or Hospitality preferred.
- Eight to ten years (8 to 10 yrs) of experience in a relevant industry or professional function.
- Three to five years (3 to 5) of experience leading and managing a team
- Strong Financial acumen
- Design skills desirable; experience working with MS Office suite, as well as Adobe design packages desirable.

- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
