Position Summary

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient internal controls. This leadership position manages the accounting team and plays a critical role in strategic planning, budgeting, and decision support for executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.

Accounting Operations

• Manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Financial analysis in capital investments (real estate, industrial machinery)
• Prepare Monthly KPIs
• Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Manufacturing Accounting

• Experience in Inventory Management, Unit Based Accounting, Consumer Packaged Goods, Warehouse and Distribution

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
• Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis to leadership.
• Provide financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives.

Cash & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment strategies.
• Optimize working capital and ensure liquidity for operational needs.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and develop the accounting team, providing mentorship and performance management.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• CPA Required
• 3 to 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with 1 to 2 years of leadership

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage or Sage Intacct Preferred)
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High integrity and a commitment to ethical financial stewardship.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Manufacturing facility and office environment.
• Work may at times involve daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), humidity, darkness, and noise.
• Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
• Ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as hair net, earplugs, beard net (if applicable), protective gloves, safety harness, safety glasses and slip resistant work shoes/boots. Personal protective equipment, as defined by Cirona Labs, will be provided.
• Position requires the ability to stand; sit at a desk; walk around office and facility; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting. Also requires the ability to see, hear; and communicate by utilizing professional etiquette with all levels of associates and with external vendors.
