DIRECTOR OF MARKETING, CURRICULUM & LEARNING RESOURCES

Strategic Responsibility:

Develop marketing programs, initiatives, and efforts aimed at launching new products and programs and sustaining and building existing backlist products to meet/exceed annual revenue goals and budgets. Understand the market and target audience, through regular market research activities, and identify product opportunities for new and existing product lines in existing and emerging markets. Collaborate and plan across departments, then monitor and assess progress and performance against stated metrics.

Job Description:

  1. Develops marketing, PR, web plans, and strategies for all products within assigned audience and brands. Directs and empowers curriculum marketing team in the execution of all marketing programs, campaigns, initiatives, and efforts aimed at launching new products while creatively marketing existing products while meeting or exceeding annual sales goals and budget. Stewards the content marketing efforts and growing those communities (Wonder Ink, Ministry Spark, and social media groups) Continue to differentiate David C Cook’s (DCC’s) curriculum from competition, clearly establishing a distinct place for each and its products.
  2. Collaborates with the CMO to acquire high ministry impact resources that best support global mission, such as: learning resources for all priority audiences, study and multi-dimensional small group resources, and digital only resources. Manages process of nurturing customer leads. Drives the publishing business to maximize available opportunities, including Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) assessment and growth plans.
  3. Collaborates with the digital marketing team to ensure plans and activities are coordinated and determine how social media and other digital initiatives play into marketing campaigns and product discoverability.
  4. Champion DCC’s digital content to aggressively expand digital revenue globally, to explore how to market and promote all digital resources.
  5. Initiates and facilitates collaborative planning with the product team, trade sales, telesales, church marketing and field sales for developing coordinated plans and strategies for all products.
  6. Initiates basic metrics to monitor progress and performance of marketing initiatives and works it into regular team assessment process.
  7. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  8. Brings valuable insights to team conversations, showing progress on what’s working in the market and where the team might pivot going forward.
  9. Displays a cheerful disposition in working on projects outside the typical workflow of this position. Effectively helps others in special projects.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education: Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

Experience: 5-7 years in marketing sales, or related field.

Specialized Knowledge/Certification: Minimum 2 years CBA and trade publishing experience required. Experience in Christian publishing is required.

Equipment Knowledge: MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
