Director of Operations

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Director of Operations for our fantastic client, a leading senior home care services provider in Oregon! This newly created, full-time role is critical to aligning operations with the companys evolving mission, values, and strategic goals. This full-time position is based in Beaverton, OR, with travel between Portland, Hood River, and Astoria, is available for immediate hire!

Under the direction of the organizations leadership and in alignment with established goals and policies, the Director of Operations will play a key role in driving organizational health, growth, and operational excellence. This position will lead efforts across business development, strategic fiscal management, and process standardization, while overseeing core operations and expansion initiatives. As a collaborative and forward-thinking leader, the Director will help ensure operations evolve in step with the organizations mission, values, priorities, and long-term goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with leadership to set departmental strategy, goals, and priorities aligned with broader organizational initiatives.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Develop and scale the operations team, systems, and processes to drive innovation, compliance, and profitability.
  • Manage departmental budget, contracts, vendor utilization, and expense analysis in partnership with finance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), assess risks, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, FMLA) and payer contract requirements.
  • Standardize operational processes across departments, recommending improvements and addressing inefficiencies.
  • Lead internal quality assurance and external audit response efforts, ensuring proper documentation and follow-through.
  • Supervise operations staff, providing ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Support recruitment efforts, provide input on key hires, and develop staffing and contingency plans to ensure continuity.
  • Facilitate training programs and onboarding for both care and administrative staff, covering all essential functions.
  • Promote a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on accountability, communication, and results.
  • Travel regularly for in-person oversight, team engagement, and direct support of operations leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, People & Culture, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, including executive-level roles, ideally within healthcare or a similar field
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, operational excellence, and strategic planning
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing large, high-performing teams
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and analysis
  • In-depth understanding of HIPAA and best practices for handling PHI and sensitive information
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant business software applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure and deliver results in fast-paced environments
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet goals and deadlines
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a strong commitment to organizational values and team culture

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

This dynamic full-time opportunity offers a competitive base salary range of $120,000 – $140,000 (DOE), relocation assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include high, age-banded company contributions toward a fully covered and customizable health insurance plan, as well as 100% covered dental and vision insurance.
