About The Role
We are recruiting for a part-time Director of Talent Acquisition position of a top middle-market Private Equity firm, based in Westport, CT.
Talent, both at this firm and their portfolio of companies, is paramount to their success. Decades of working with founder and family-owned businesses have taught them that with the right team they can drive some of the best returns in the world for their investors.
General Description
The Talent Acquisition Director will be responsible for leading the internal talent management and hiring functions as well as ensuring that they have the best talent in their portfolio companies, particularly in leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
Firm-level
Role
The role will be focused on both building strategy, process, systems, tools, and best practices as well as overseeing execution and the key areas of human capital management:
- Recruiting
- Lead talent acquisition efforts for all internal hiring needs
- Onboarding
- Develop a process for bringing on and training for new hires
- Ensure employees are properly oriented, outfitted, and trained starting day one
- Development
- Provide thought partnership to firm’s leadership around career development
- Implement and manage an annual review process
- Retention
- Provide compensation benchmarking and comp plan design
- Coordinate year-end review process
- Create and implement employee relations policies at the firm to help increase employees’ job satisfaction
Portfolio-level
- Ensure that we have A-players in key roles at each of our portfolio companies (primarily CEO and CFO)
- Evaluate portco needs and grade existing leaders
- Work with the investment team to drive hiring processes forward
- Ensure end of year review processes have been completed
- Manage third parties related to the executive search process
- Maintain a database of compensation statistics for portfolio company executives
- Manage the firms relationship with third-party talent acquisition partners
- As appropriate and time permits, explore other relevant tools, resources, and best-practices that will drive value in our portfolio. Examples of areas of need include:

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years’ experience in talent acquisition
- Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Accountable, highly organized, self-motivated and self-sufficient
