What You Will Do:
Guidehouse’s Strategy & Economics team provides individuals the opportunity to serve clients in the areas of: organizational strategy, sustainability, energy transition, smart cities, IoT, broadband, digital equity, economic development, industrial policy and infrastructure strategy. Through our consulting services on some of our client’s most important government and public policy issues, we are mission-driven on creating positive impact affecting society and communities.
We are recruiting for a Strategy & Corporate Finance Director to join our Strategy & Economics team in either Washington, DC or New York City. The successful candidate will lead teams that primarily work with Federal, state and local agencies and departments to develop organizational strategies and design innovative new business models for the efficient delivery of public services and infrastructure.
Your role will be to augment Guidehouse’s existing strategy capabilities and build out our corporate finance advisory capabilities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Sales and business development, including driving proposals, attendance in various industry networks, conferences and forums.

Solution development (e.g., frameworks, toolkits, models) in collaboration with Strategy & Economics team, the wider Impact+Resilience practice, and Guidehouse client account teams.

Client relationship cultivation and management.
-
Team development, including recruitment, staffing and resource allocation, conducting performance reviews and liaising with internal firm resources.

Team leadership, mentorship and coaching to junior team members.

Project delivery and quality assurance.
What You Will Need:
-
Bachelor’s degree.
-
At least 10 years of strategy or deals consulting experience, or equivalent public sector finance, investment banking, or corporate strategy experience or a combination of the above.
-
Mission-driven for the role of government and bringing commercial practices to the public sector, with specific domain experience in at least two of the following areas:
-
Corporate or enterprise/organizational strategy including business model design, restructuring and divestitures.
-
Strategic financial acumen e.g., budgeting, capital structuring, revenue/pricing approaches, and financial strategy.
-
Public sector/municipal finance e.g., economics and fiscal policy, public budgeting, taxation, municipal bonds, and credit rating development.
-
Design of commercial delivery models for public services, capital projects and infrastructure e.g., through joint ventures, GOCOs, P3s, concessions, and service agreements.
-
‘Hands on’ experience in related functional skillsets e.g., investment appraisals/cost-benefit analyses, due diligence, and financial modelling.

Ability to build and direct teams to deliver strategy consulting engagements. Proficiency in providing technical leadership and oversight over teams that will employ core management consulting skills:
-
Baseline assessments and secondary research.
-
Stakeholder interviews.
-
Business modelling and economic analysis; strong numerical reasoning and quantitative skills, building complex time series-based Excel models.
-
Hypothesizing solutions frameworks.
-
Synthesizing multiple inputs into coherent insights across a variety of formats; slide decks, written narrative, playbooks, dashboards and toolkits.

What Would Be Nice To Have:
- CFA
- MBA or other Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Operational Research, Management, Public Policy, Government, Political/Social Science, and/or related fields.
The annual salary range for this position is $226,000.00-$376,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
