How you will make an impact:
Clinical Research Group (CRG) is part of Thermo Fisher Scientific,. CRG provides clinical development and analytical services to enable customers to accelerate innovation and increase drug development productivity. As a strategic global FP&A leader, you will drive the financial vision and direction of the Clinical Research Group (CRG), ensuring alignment with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s broader goals.
The Finance Executive Director for CRG key finance responsibilities focus on leading the annual strategic and operating plan financial processes, recurring reporting and analysis, leading and coordinating planning and forecasting activities, and ad hoc FP&A support. This position serves as a strategic thought partner to CRG leaders across all divisions. This position will work closely with the VP of Finance for the Group, the Group Finance Leadership Team, and the Group President on a frequent basis. In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify and implement operational improvement opportunities and develop a strong finance team.
What you will do:
+ Drive AOP/QBR/STRAP/financial forecast in a matrixed organization, ensure financial decisions support company’s STRAP/AOP and current market environment
+ Communicate results to the broader organization and ensure alignment on key financial goals
+ Develop and lead analytical methods for exploratory and explanatory business insights
+ Assist with all key annual operating plan tasks including, target setting, developing AOP guidance, building AOP calendar, building review package and assisting in AOP presentation
+ Provide finance and business support to key group functions
+ Develop operational metrics/contingencies
+ Build and develop a high performing team including group and division FP&A business partners
How you will get here:
Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business related field required; CPA, CMA, MBA strongly desired
Experience
+ Excellent academic credentials and strong finance skillset, with over 10 years of finance skills.
+ Good understanding of FP&A Systems (Hyperion Planning) to drive more organizational insights and efficiencies
+ Experience in leading and running a distributed team
+ Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization
+ Proficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamics
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
+ Excellent spoken and written communication skills are required to collaborate with various partners.
+ Able to deliver high quality effective presentation and understands and deploys best tools / methods to effectively communicate complex topics
+ Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
Salary Transparency
This is a salaried role that will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Compensation will be initially discussed during the screening period, with actual compensation confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
