We are looking for an analytical and driven Financial Controller to become a part of our Groups Consolidation team. This is an opportunity for someone with an interest in accounting and consolidation combined with a digital mindset and a curiosity in how systems can be utilized to automatize and to drive process improvements and efficiencies.

You will belong to the consolidation team consisting of 7 people, reporting to the Financial Control Director. This role is based in Stockholm at the Essity head office in the Waterfront Building, just a couple of minutes from the Stockholm Central Station. The Stockholm office includes around 120 experts from the group functions: Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Communications, as well as the CEO office. About The Role

As a Financial Controller, you will be working with consolidation and controlling of financial reporting from Essity’s Group companies. You will work closely with our colleagues around the world in subsidiaries, our global shared service organization and other departments within Group Finance. You will also have an important role to contribute to our strategy to drive efficiency and to digitalize our processes and way of working.

The consolidation team is responsible for:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual accounts within the given time frames, which among all include:
    • Year-end adjustments and other consolidation tasks such as reconciliation and analyzes of the reporting from the subsidiaries in Essity’s consolidation system
    • Internal matching and elimination of internal transactions
    • Reconciliation of Group’s equity
    • Cash flow reporting
    • Follow-up of restructuring projects
    • Preparation of financial statements and notes in the interim/year-end/annual reports
  • Support with integration of acquired entities for financial reporting in Aaro according to Essity accounting principles
  • Dispatch of instructions and contribute to further development and improvements of our accounting guidelines, routines, and processes
  • Work towards creative and technological solutions to better manage and automatize workflows together with controls and drive efficiency, end-to-end
  • Educate and proactively support business units and our global shared service organization in matters of accounting and reporting
  • Participate in implementation of new IFRS standards
  • Drive and be involved in projects and ad-hoc tasks within the Consolidation team and the Finance organization
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability reporting team on CSRD compliance and sustainability reporting topics, particularly on issues related to financial reporting

Who You Are

You are process-oriented and have the ability and interest to quickly adapt and utilize new systems and technologies to drive improvements and efficiencies within accounting. You are organized and able to multi-task, with the ability to effectively re-prioritize tasks as needed. You have a passion for taking strong ownership and ambitiously delivering on or beyond agreed goals and aspirations.

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant area
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience from accounting, consultancy/audit firm or similar
  • Experience from working with systems such as Aaro, SAP and Power BI is an advantage
  • Experience working in an international environment is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish (verbal and written)
