Head of Corporate Coverage

About the Role:

  • The Head of Corporate Coverage be responsible for driving business performance through the execution of business strategy. The incumbent is expected to be a strong leader, with accountability for the coverage of corporate clients in Indonesia. Close collaboration is required with the relevant product teams (Markets, Transaction Banking and Corporate Finance), and where relevant, with teams across International network.
  • The Head of Corporate Coverage is responsible for driving growth of the corporate franchise, with accountability for both financial (NPAT, Revenue, Expenses etc…) and non-financial (FTE, Clients, Engagement etc…) performance elements.
  • The incumbent will be a member of the Indonesia Leadership committee. The incumbent is expected to be actively involved in decision making on matters presented in committee and forum meetings.

You are also responsible of the following:

Financial:

  • Achieve profitable and sustainable growth (Rev/RWA; ZCEP hurdles; Credit loss provisions) in accordance and alignment with our Business Plan.

Customer

  • Grow, maintain the corporate client base (quality clients, wallet share, returns) through implementation of the agreed business strategy and through disciplined best-practice sales processes (account planning, client calls, cross-sell, loans and pricing).
  • Develop a clear, business strategy for the corporate franchise, and work with other teams to expand existing relationships and identify new opportunities.
  • Engage with partners across international network where appropriate to identify and execute opportunities.
  • Lead in the active management of client satisfaction as measured by internal and external client surveys as applicable.

People

  • Lead the team by living the Bank’s values and providing an environment where people can perform.
  • Ensure performance is managed in an open and honest manner, and on a timely basis.
  • Support the growth of individual staff through coaching and motivating. Establish a team-culture, which maximizes collective performance. Role-model the behaviors required to cultivate a ‘high-performing team culture.
  • Proactively develop talent and maintain a succession plan.

Process

  • Develop a business strategy that capitalizes on opportunities in the local market by leveraging the Bank’s capabilities.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are followed, and updated as necessary as the business context and environment evolves. Take accountability for 1st-line risk management (audit ratings 2 or above, address reputation issues, manage problem loans, no overdue reviews).

Risk/compliance/behaviors

  • Contribute to a strong risk culture.
  • Adhere to the Bank’s credit policies and standards regarding approval, reporting and documentation.
  • Ongoing vigilance for early signs of credit quality deterioration and with appropriate action.
  • Accountable for data integrity as it relates to the corporate client franchise.
  • Ensure all Bank standards and regulatory / compliance requirements are met.

Must have knowledge, skills and expertise:

  • Familiarity with the Indonesian market, key corporate names, the composition of the economy and government policy direction.
  • A strong understanding of corporate financial management, including funding considerations and risk management.
  • Influencing skills – a strong team player, with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders to deliver outcomes
  • Resilience, ambition and enthusiasm; the ability to motivate others
  • Strategic thinking – ability to develop solutions to problems, plan for the future, critique, innovate and engage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work both autonomously, cope with ambiguity .
  • Disciplined execution with strong planning, organizing, numerical, analytical skills and focus on detail.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Hold Indonesian citizenship

Good to have knowledge, skills and experiences:

  • System thinking – the ability to identify and appreciate interdependencies, and to adapt accordingly.

Qualification :

  • Extensive professional experience within the Banking & Finance sector, expectation to have at least 15 years of Institutional Banking experience
  • A strong understanding of the banking requirements of corporate clients
  • At least 5-years of people-management skills
  • A broad and deep understanding of Institutional banking
  • A comprehensive understanding of the strategic, financial and operational aspects of business
  • The ability to build long and sustainable relationships with stakeholders and customers
  • Proven ability to execute with a sense of urgency
  • The ability to keep sensitive information confidential
