Head of Decentral Analytics (all genders)

The Data & Insights department is on a growth path and on a mission to ensure that all tonies leverage data to bring joy and adventure to our listeners from all around the world.

As the Head of Decentral Analytics, you will play a key role in this mission. You will lead embedded analysts across the Markets (DACH, FR, UK, US) and Functions (Product, Finance, Operations, Content), ensuring these teams optimize data to sustain our growth. Your role involves building and developing your team to enable others to answer most of their business questions via self-service and to act as a trusted sparring partner to them to not only report on data but to explore the underlying reasons (the WHY), and to develop data driven hypotheses about how to influence outcomes.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Data Strategy: Influencing the Data & Insights strategy and translating this together with business needs into a strategy and roadmap for your team, making sure to constantly create business value while iteratively building towards our long-term goals.
  • Transformation: Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within Markets and Functions and empower them to gain insights on their own.
  • Stakeholder Management: Managing stakeholders by understanding their needs, identifying new opportunities, and aligning on running and planned projects.
  • Team development: Form and grow a team, equipped with the needed skills, tools, and processes to make a difference.
  • Data Governance: Be a leading member of the governance group, on a mission to provide the best capabilities for other teams to deliver quick, stable, and valuable solutions around data.
  • Value Generation: Providing insights that result in action items with measurable impact for your stakeholders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a diverse team of analysts across multiple regions and functions, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with business goals.
  • Data Strategy Expertise: 5+ years of proven experience in developing and implementing data strategies that align with broader business objectives, with a focus on creating measurable business value.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong capability in providing actionable insights, and proven track record in helping the business grow.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with modern data tools, platforms, and methodologies to equip the team with necessary resources and maintain industry-leading standards (e.g., dbt, Tableau, Data Mesh, Kimball).
  • Stakeholder Management: Skilled in managing diverse stakeholder groups, understanding their unique needs, fostering strong, productive relationships, and gaining a common understanding of future goals.
  • Data Governance and Innovation: You are versed in leading data governance efforts to ensure data integrity and accessibility and are skilled at using innovative approaches to leverage data, driving new opportunities and solving complex problems.
