About The Role

The Head of Engineering Software is responsible for leading the overall europe software engineering team through various product development and production cycles delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions into manufacturing and to our customers. The job holder has the responsibility for both people management (development, coaching) and project leadership for those projects within area of responsibility.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensures engineering timing plans, defect / issues list, risk assessments, lessons learned are created and maintained and provides engineering status for project reviews (e.g. gate, design, milestones, etc.) according to program timing for all assigned projects
  • Resource planning and alignment to ensure that all projects in the department are properly staffed with the right quality and quantity of resources to meet the deliverables in an effective and efficient way is a key objective of this position
  • Leadership for related subteams an team members
  • Directly manages all relevant engineering roles in the implementation of project objectives and overall activities
  • As appropriate to specific role, acts as primary customer and internal interface for all escalated technical issues
  • Approve Product Release Notes prior to delivery to the customer
  • Develops & leads continuous improvement efforts for products, processes and programs
  • Ensures compliance to company procedures (e.g. Process – Work Instructions) and applicable standards (e.g. ISO/TS 16949, ISO/IEC TR 15504)

Who We Are Looking For

  • Completed university degree in engineering or equivalent environment
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in the Automotive/ADAS discipline
  • In-depth experience in leadership
  • Detailed knowledge in structured engineering approach and problem solving (i.e. 8D)
  • Comprehensive working skills of configuration management, project planning, monitoring and control techniques
  • Extensive working knowledge of automotive software development, ADAS principles and systems engineering discipline
  • Able to lead, coach and motivate a cross functional team including matrixed resource.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of analysis, engineering and product lifecycle management tools
  • Effective technical presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate complex technical topics
  • Business fluent in English
  • Advanced knowledge of local language desired

Your Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or other additional qualifications in relevant technical field preferred
