Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

  • Shape the strategic direction for model-based and market data production together with the VP Data Production
  • Define and drive the quarterly data production roadmap – deciding not only what data to produce, but also how to evolve our modeling methods and production systems
  • Join the senior leadership circle of the Data Production division – contributing to vision, OKR-setting, and cross-functional alignment
  • Lead four specialized teams with dedicated team leads – driving performance, engagement, and professional development

Operational Excellence

  • Implement Python-based, modular modeling standards to increase transparency, reusability, and speed
  • Integrate AI and agentic systems to drive intelligent, fast, and scalable data production
  • Contribute to a production steering system that consolidates input from content experts, Revenue colleagues, and customers – and translates it into clear production priorities
  • Ensure full harmonization of data structures and taxonomy within your teams and across the division – in collaboration with our Data Taxonomy team
  • Establish scalable, automated data quality processes – in close collaboration with our centralized Data Quality team

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Product teams to help them deeply understand the data you produce – and build customer-facing products for web, API, and ecosystem platforms
  • Work closely with Revenue and Customer Success to align on customer needs and ensure we deliver maximum value
  • Partner with Data Engineering to co-develop the infrastructure, tooling, and AI applications that power your data production

Thought Leadership & Client Engagement

  • Act as a strategic thought partner on market structures, modeling logic, and data priorities – internally and externally
  • Enable your teams to engage with clients as credible industry and methodology experts
  • Represent Statista in senior-level customer meetings – reinforcing the value and structure of our modelled data

Skills

  • 5–8 years of experience in high-performance environments (e.g. tier-1 consulting, data product companies, data-heavy scale-ups)
  • Proven experience in leading teams and growing leaders – ideally with full team lead responsibility
  • Strong understanding of data business models – you know how structured, high-quality data is built and monetized (this is not BI)
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling, forecasting, or market quantification – Python is a plus, but not required
  • Fast-learning, analytical mindset with strong logical reasoning – able to understand complex markets and translate them into structured models
  • Confident communicator capable of influencing senior clients, VPs, and C-level stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating across strategic, technical, content, and commercial dimensions
