Our Product Management Department in Makati City, Philippines is looking for a

HEAD OF BUYING & MERCHANDISING

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Head of Buying and Merchandising is responsible for managing the sales budgets and forecasts for intimate apparel brands. Her job involves overseeing the product portfolio, building brand equity, selecting merchandise for the market, and increasing market share by commercializing consumer insights across all consumer touchpoints.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive Sales and Margins:

1. Leads her team to establish product strategies to achieve targets in terms of BQ (Billing Quantity), NS (Net sales), SPM (Sales Profit Margin) and GMIR (Gross Margin Inventory Return)

2. Manage and expand product portfolio based on market growth strategies and regional brand merchandising guidelines.

3. Work with the sales team to drive product/concept launches.

4. Work with the Demand Planning team to ensure stock sufficiency of products.

5. Work with the Marketing and VM team based on launch plans.

6. Collaborate with the Head of Demand to establish and achieve sales budgets and forecasts for Triumph and sloggi brands based on historical data and growth considerations, as outlined in the approved MTP and Commercial plan.

7. Stay current on new brands and trends. Monitor competitors for pricing and product launches.

8. Develop effective promotional campaigns that increase sales while maintaining profitability.

Master data management and system integration for various IT issues and projects

1. Consolidate and verify all data from the team for sales budgeting and stock management. Coordinate between data management and demand planning team.

2. Ensure accurate and precise business analysis and reports to all related parties.

Optimize Product Assortment/Range & New Product Development

1. Optimize product assortments across key touch points to acquire and retain targeted consumers at highest SPM%, NS, & BQ possible and ensure enough range/styles to meet business objectives.

2. Identify current gaps in product assortment.

3. Define coherent price structure and strategies for all assortments.

4. Gather feedback regularly and systematically from SEs and SAs on new product selections & improvements on current products.

Inventory Management

1. Actively manage PLC to keep brand inventory within target SOH.

2. Plan and execute promotions to drive sell-through rates.

Administration and Reports

1. Ensure on-time submission of all reports to the Regional Office and share locally with concerned teams.

2. Follow through the timely administration to ensure the Business Central (BC) system captures the right information (e.g. listing, new material creations, promotion price off, PLC assignment)

3. Be actively involved in the preparation of the budget.

4. Provide regular new product/running products information to the sales, and training team.

Regional Meetings

1. Attend and participate actively in regional meetings to ensure local market interest is well-presented.

2. Ensure new launch feedback is given to the Regional Office for future reference and development.

Leadership

3. Coach and supervise the work of direct report(s) and advance their growth and learning.

Others

4. Any other ad-hoc reports, initiatives, and projects assigned.

Your ideal profile:

  • 10 years’ professional work experience in the field of Product Management, Assortment Planning and Buying Merchandising in Fashion Retail/ Apparel, inclusive of 3 years leadership/ management experience.
  • Proven track record in Buying for Retail channel and experienced in handling large number of SKUs.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills in English and Tagalog.
  • College graduate preferably in Business Management, Marketing, Industrial or its equivalent
  • IT proficiency, strong in excel and knowledge in powerpoint
  • Organized, disciplined, detailed capabilities, responsible, with leadership qualities and a team player.
