URBAN MOBILITY Head – Public Transport Systems Infrastructure

(Three- Year Contract)

Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology,

Project management, Engineering or technical field

• At least eight (8) years’ relevant experience in managing

large, complex projects of a technical nature, including IT

infrastructure, telecoms and project management

• Experience in implementing automated fare collection

systems, intelligent transport systems or similar

technologies is advantageous.

• Valid driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas

• Lead the Automated Fare Collection and Advanced

Passenger Transport Management System

implementation, operations and maintenance in support of

MyCiti services.

• Lead the infrastructure technical specification process in line

with business requirements

• Review system design against specifications and test and

commission systems that are implemented

• Manage operations and maintenance in accordance with

standard operating procedures

• Implement improvement initiatives to enhance the MyCiTi

service offering

• Plan and direct the activities of team leads and specialists
• Project management and contract management
• Stakeholder relationship management
• Ensure compliance as it relates to all current legislation,

policies, standard operating procedures and processes as

relevant to Public Transport Systems.

• Identify and implement solutions for cost savings and loss

prevention

• Provide comment on the applicable public transport tariff

where required and managing the implementation of the

annual public transport tariff adjustment

• Provide financial management, control and monitoring of

the capital and operating budgets

• Management of staff and ensuring the team is motivated

and productive
