Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer UNM Hospitals, the Hospital Chief Executive – SRMC Campus is responsible for the administration, management and leadership of the general operations of Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) campus. Develop and implement long term strategic plan to establish and execute major organizational goals and objectives in conjunction with UNM Hospitals. Ensure adherence to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment
- LEADERSHIP – Provide leadership, oversight and supervision to ensure the highest quality and best possible delivery of services that promote the highest levels of employee and patient satisfaction
- LEADERSHIP – Provide management and oversight to ensure the efficient, economic, and quality performance of assigned areas that meet the needs of patients, physicians, staff and visitors
- COMPLIANCE – Establish and maintain qualifications of clinical staff including competency-based performance expectations and compliance with clinical care
- COLLABORATE – Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief of Human Resources (CHRO) and Medical Staff to ensure implementation of strategic initiatives
- CUSTOMER SATISFACTION – Work collaboratively with and manage assigned areas to optimize customer satisfaction ensuring complaints and grievances are addressed, including evaluating and initiating process improvement
- OPERATIONS – Develop plans and make recommendations relative to organizational and departmental operations such as organizational structure, space and layout, equipment use, work flow, and staffing
- OPERATIONS – Consult with and advise CEO of problems related to the operation of the Hospitals/departments; recommend changes in administrative policies to carry out Hospitals objectives more effectively. Serves as a resource and consultant for patient care issues to hospital administration
- OPERATIONS AND SUPPORT – Administer and manage all operational and support services for the delivery of care at all SRMC clinical facilities
- LEADERSHIP – Represents all programs needs regarding improvements of hospital facilities including construction, renovation and purchase of capital equipment
- DECISION MAKING – Participate in key decision making regarding overall planning, work redesign, and staff development associated with implementing changes in patient care delivery
- QUALITY – Integrates clinical care quality and management with nursing, operations, and finance, partnering with the members of the Executive Team
- QUALITY – Oversee the development and implementation of quality standards of practice and operational processes
- QUALITY – Work with leaders to ensure staff provides quality, evidence-based patient care; use validated metrics to monitor service quality and procedures, and evaluate outcomes; support achievement of improved patient satisfaction and improved patient outcomes
- COMPLIANCE – Ensure compliance with all Federal and State statutes and regulations, accreditation standards, UNMH policies, procedures and best practices in the health care industry
- IMPROVEMENT – Develop best practices and recommend changes for improvement in program content and in short/long-range planning in order to maintain competitiveness in the healthcare market
- REPRESENTATIVE – Represent the SRMC clinical facilities, for purposes of administrative, business and clinical support functions with the UNM Health System and UNM Health Sciences Center
- PHYSICIAN DEVELOPMENT – Maintains high visibility among physician community and earns a reputation for effectively listening and leading efforts that build physician loyalty and enhance patient outcomes
- PUBLIC POLICY – Develop, in concert with the CEO appropriate local, state and national public policy positions related to the activities of the SRMC clinical facilities
- SERVICE – Participate in appropriate civic and health care associations and professional activities related to health care delivery
- DEVELOPMENT – Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
- STRATEGIC INITIATIVES – Responsible for integrating strategic initiatives across assigned areas to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality services
- STRATEGIC INITIATIVES – Working with the CEO, CNO, CMO, CFO and Medical Staff Services to develop centers of excellence, clinical programming and standards for the hospital and ensure implementation of strategic initiatives
- BUDGET – Develop and manage annual budget and perform periodic cost and productivity analysis in partnership with the COO and CFO; monitor and report actual revenues and expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets and available resources
- MENTOR – Coaches, mentors, develops and supports leaders and others by providing guidance, advice, encouragement and constructive feedback; assist leaders with creating a strategic roadmap for professional development; develop individuals to achieve high performance standards, desired outcomes, and goals that align with the strategic direction of UNMH
- LEADERSHIP – Provide leadership in the Hospitals governance, delivery of exceptional medical care, in the continual improvement of the quality of care and safety for all patients, and in the improvement of Hospital clinical facilities. Executes the mission and core values of the organization and develops and implements strategic plans and goals; ensures communication of strategic plans to key constituencies and alignment of organizational objectives
