We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar for a

Materials Controller

Your main duties will be to: –

  • Link with different actors of logistics process from procurement to delivery along with Project Engineers, Construction Coordinators, warehouse teams & Offshore Reps
  •  Verify that correct materials are linked to the work-orders.
  •  Raise Purchase Requests on materials, tools, and equipment for on-going and upcoming Shutdown and/or Campaign planned jobs.
  • Shortage, delay issues for offshore deliveries by taking acts with any actors on the transverse flow (MRP, Procurement, Freight Forwarding, Warehouse Receipt team, QC inspector(s), Preparation teams for outbound delivery).
  •  Request specific physical inventory in case of PALM / SAP doubt.
  • After receiving the material mobilization date from the Project engineers, instruct warehouse teams for picking QC outbound inspection and outbound deliveries. Prepares available materials for bagging, tagging, and shipment offshore, in-line with the Shutdown/Campaign schedule of planned jobs.
  • Initiate with Project Control process for re-certification, re-calibration, test for specific equipment (pressure gauges, valves) by Third party/Vendor or cable cuttings if needed.
  • Advise Offshore teams while delivering material & tracking for goods receipt offshore.
  • Coordinate with E&C Warehouse Material Controller for the transfer of E&C material into warehouse locations.
  • On demand of Project Engineers proceed for creating SAP code for fabricated items to MRP team.
  • Initiate (and/or coordinate) with Warehouse team & MRP team for updating PALM / SAP Work Order by adding or deleting lines of items, SAP STO (Stock Transfer Order) or Delivery Notes
  • Coordinate the offshore material returns / surplus materials with Backload team and E&C Warehouse Material Controller for the dispatch (to W/H 0005 storage, to “UNFIT” bins, to Vendors)
  • Profile

    Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).

    Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.

    Proficiency is SAP is a must.

    You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication

    You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
