Summary/Characteristics Of Position

The Program Director is a professional position providing leadership, supervision, and administrative oversight for between ACTS and the Hillsborough County Enhanced Offender Diversion Program (EOD). The EOD program is designed to offer alternatives to traditional criminal justice processes for eligible individuals. This program is typically aimed at diverting offenders from the traditional court system, especially for those who might benefit from rehabilitation or other supportive interventions rather than incarceration.

Essential Functions

  • Develops a program culture consistent with the mission and values of organization.
  • Ensures compliance with required contract, licensure, accreditation, and certification guidelines.
  • Routinely communicates with court administration, attorneys, and other community providers.
  • Provides direct supervision, training and support to assigned direct service personnel
  • Attends multi-disciplinary meetings related to access to care and effective service delivery.
  • Coordinates clinical tasks, review, and supervision in accordance with licensure and/or accreditation standards.
  • Manages and oversees caseloads assigned to clinical staff for efficiencies.
  • Prepares internal reports related to budgeting, program participations and outcome measures.
  • Participates in preparation and compliance activities for audit and accreditation surveys.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for provision of services.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of assigned direct service personnel.
  • Performs performance management tasks including supervision, evaluations and discipline of staff assigned to program/unit.
  • Performs related work as required/assigned.

Pre-requisite Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college human services with a concentration in a counseling discipline
  • License eligible- Mental Health Counseling, Social work or Marriage and Family Counseling.
  • Two (2) years of team lead or supervisory experience.
  • A valid Florida driver license or the ability to arrange transportation for field travel.
  • Must pass a Level II background and pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Attributes

  • Active License or Registered Intern in Mental Health Counseling, Social work or Marriage and Family Counseling.
  • Previous experience in the justice field.

  • Ability to make critical decisions in high stress situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position provides direct supervision to assigned clinical, case management and program administrative support personnel. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Physically able to participate in crisis intervention and CPR/First Aid training and able to apply same to work setting.

Travel: Frequent travel required between ACTS programs, courts and community partner locations. Minimal overnight travel to attend conferences and/or training.
