Grant Thornton is seeking a Senior Director of Compliance to join the team. Approved office locations can be found below.
+ This role will focus on developing, enhancing, and managing a global compliance program for our expanding multi-national organization, with a particular emphasis on compliance related to sanctions, AML, anti-bribery and conflicts of interest as well as other regulatory areas relevant to professional services firms.
+ In addition to laying the foundation of a global compliance function, this role will manage and continuously mature the operations of the U.S. compliance program together with a team located in the U.S. and India.
+ This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that require close partnerships with legal, risk, privacy, and other business teams.
+ Specific responsibilities involve:
+ Proactively managing identified risks and evaluating the effectiveness of ethics and compliance policies.
+ Researching new and existing laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards and identifying emerging compliance risks, performing risk assessments, and managing an enterprise compliance risk register in collaboration with other risk stakeholders.
+ Project managing cross-functional initiatives, developing remediation roadmaps to address compliance risks and implementing monitoring mechanisms to ensure regulatory adherence across the global enterprise.
+ Promoting ethics and compliance as a top priority to the organization.
+ Creating ethics and compliance awareness training materials, including developing annual Code of Conduct training content.
+ Collaborating with the legal and other departments to monitor enforcement of policies, regulations and other standards.
+ Coordinating internal compliance risk assessments.
+ Developing and updating policies, procedures, and guidance based on prioritized needs and risk assessments.
+ Other duties as assigned.
+ This position reports to the firm’s Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and the ideal candidate is self-starting, goal-oriented, business savvy and adaptable.
+ Grant Thornton has a hybrid work model, and colleagues are expected to work at minimum two days per week in their local office or from a client site.
Qualifications/Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or JD preferred).
+ Certified compliance professional or legal background is required
+ 12+ years of proven experience as compliance professional or within the legal field is required.
+ Deep subject matter expertise in legal and compliance areas applicable to privately-held global organizations
+ Well-versed in compliance program management, frameworks and best practices, and strong project execution skills
+ Excellent writing and editing skills are mandatory, including preparing presentations and reporting packages
+ Proven experience creating training content and producing training courses
+ High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and maturity
+ Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning and process improvement abilities
+ Experience working in professional services industry a plus
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Chicago, IL office only is between $187,500 and $312,500 per year.
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY offices only is between $202,500 and $337,500 per year.
