Job Description Summary:
The Senior Director of Global Physical Security at PayPal is responsible for leading a team of senior managers, security managers, and contract workers to execute physical security measures at every PayPal proprietary facility in The Americas, EMEA and APAC regions. The candidate will be responsible for providing on-going support, analysis, planning and implementation for a comprehensive global security plan for each PayPal facility enabling the business requirements in each region. The candidate will be an innovative and decisive leader who can communicate and thoroughly execute the physical security outcomes as defined by PayPal’s Chief Security Officer.

Job Description:
Responsibilities and Duties:

• Direct supervision and oversight of a team of PayPal global Senior Managers and Security Managers.
• Direct supervision and oversight of a global contingent guard staff including management of payroll, training, and security execution.
• Assist with coordination and implementation of physical security site plans and operations to ensure protection of all employees, visitors, vendors, assets, and infrastructure.
• Provides guidance to the site security, global real estate onsite staff and line level management in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability resulting to reduce economic loss to the company.
• Develops, manages, and maintains security related processes, procedures, training, and improvement plans.
• Protection responsibilities include workplace violence prevention, access control systems, video surveillance, and emergency protocols (e.g., disaster recovery, text messaging alerts, and employee safety verification procedures).
• Advising on physical security issues pertaining to the security operations of the company.
• Ensuring compliance with each country’s federal and local regulations.
• Consulting with law enforcement agencies and regulators on security matters
• Providing guidance on all security matters for training and recruitment.
• Providing an effective risk analysis, threat assessment, and response capability regionally.
• Ensuring the highest possible levels of security integrity are maintained through the application of risk management controls.
• Formulation and implementation of additional measures to be applied during periods of increased threat.
• Implementation of a regional audit program to ensure safety and security compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Assisting PayPal Global Investigators on regional investigations.
• Monitoring and reviewing security reports in preparation for presentation to senior leadership.
• Conduct and provide oversight and accountability on facility reviews on an annual basis.
• Monitors and evaluates site performance including all compliance standards and activities as outlined by company’s compliance team pertaining to standards on key security issues and programs.
• Ensuring all security incidents are fully investigated at station level.
• Managing Country Threat Assessments.
• Providing timely reports to the Chief Security Officer of any work situation, equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
• Conduct work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
• Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
• Manage and assist in the execution of the company’s Environmental Health and Safety program.

Qualifications And Experience

• Higher education diploma, degree or equivalent in security, or related studies preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years’ experience in security management in either the corporate or law enforcement fields with senior management experience required.
• Self-motivated, disciplined and with flexible attitude to change.
• Direct, practical approach to providing solutions in a challenging and dynamic business environment, with superior organizational skills.
• Prepared to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes at short notice including temporary secondment on a support/coaching basis at other locations and overseas.
• Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels and from different geographical and ethnic cultures.
• Fluency in written and spoken English with ability to work in an international environment.
• Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Operates with strong integrity and the ability to manage projects of a sensitive and confidential nature.
• Ability to generate and apply creative and innovative solutions.
• Proven ability to operate simultaneously as an effective tactical as well as analytical thinker.
• Ability to identify and manage safety and security related contractor/vendor service relationships.
• Proven track record of aligning and allocating resources to drive optimal delivery.
• Possesses strong analytical, problem solving, and critical / creative thinking skills.
• Extremely detail oriented.
• Must possess and maintain a valid passport.
