Sr. Director of Risk Management

Job Description

Overall Responsibility

The Sr. Director of Risk Management owns the development and execution of the credit risk management strategies, including creating and disseminating credit risk policies, procedures, and standards and developing and directing the implementation of a credit risk management strategy which optimizes profitability and Tricolor’s mission whilst minimizing risk exposure and maintaining compliance. The Sr. Director will be responsible for owning Line 1 credit risk and developing appropriate line 2 control structures as appropriate for the business and model environment.

This position is responsible for overseeing and/or supervising risk/reward optimization, developing new credit strategies, advancing automation and customer experience related to credit decisioning and finance application processing, and ensuring growth is done in a safe, sound, profitable and mission consistent fashion.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Builds operating policies and processes, evaluation of policies processes, and review control/quality assurance programs for the Credit Risk Management department.

Communicates to senior leadership emerging risks.

Develops and directs the implementations of a credit risk management strategy, optimizing profitability whilst minimizing credit risk exposure.

Develops and implements credit risk policies, procedures, and standards.

Develops and prepares related risk reporting in support of business risk priority and review meeting cadence.

Develops new approaches to manage and/or mitigate credit risk.

Develops organization wide credit risk and early warning indicators.

Drives culture or credit risk awareness and develops operational credit risk training materials.

Drives initiatives around market research, points-of-view, capability, development and thought capital knowledge management.

Identifies key credit risks exposures and assesses mitigating controls to determine de risk profile for the organization. Identifies material individual, aggregate and emerging risks, communicates findings to senior leadership.

Owns material credit risk strategy development and decisions.

Build, manage, maintain, and develop a team of credit/pricing/risk analysts including managing, mentoring and hands-on coding.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s/PhD Degree preferred in appropriately analytic discipline.

5 to 8 years of experience; Consumer Credit Risk Management experience within Financial Industry, including experience dealing with U.S. regulatory agencies, unsecured and secured credit and Management/Leadership experience.
