Summer Camp Director

Program: Family Matters Summer Enrichment Camp.

Location: Pipeline Behavioral Health – Lyndhurst Campus.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Dates: June 2, 2025 – June 30, 2025.

Compensation: $28/hour.

Status: Seasonal, Temporary Hire.

Position Summary

Pipeline Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced, energetic, and organized Camp Director to lead our Family Matters: Creating Kid Connections Summer Camp. This individual will oversee all aspects of camp programming and operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching experience for youth ages 8–13. The ideal candidate is both a visionary leader and a hands-on manager who thrives in dynamic, youth-centered environments.

This position combines traditional camp administration responsibilities (e.g., managing logistics, curriculum oversight) with youth development and after-school program leadership, emphasizing social-emotional learning, creative expression, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Camp Planning (Prior to June 2):

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to finalize curriculum and activity plans.
  • Schedule and coordinate facility preparation and maintenance.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding for seasonal staff and volunteers.
  • Assist with distributing marketing materials and outreach to increase enrollment.
  • Procure program supplies and ensure readiness for the first day of camp.

Camp Season Operations (June 2 – June 30)

  • Oversee daily operations of the camp, including staff schedules, attendance, and activity flow
  • Ensure implementation of a dynamic and balanced curriculum, including:
    • Video creation, photography, music production, arts and crafts.
    • Social-emotional learning modules.
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student behavior, manage incidents promptly, and support staff as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and community partners.
  • Track attendance, enter metrics, and assist with reporting requirements.

Required

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing youth programming (camps, after-school, or community-based).
  • Experience working with diverse populations and underserved communities.
  • Comfort with overseeing curriculum implementation and leading a team.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, youth development, or a related field.
  • Certifications in first aid/CPR.
  • At least 3 years of experience in youth programming, camp leadership, or school-based programs.
  • Background in social-emotional learning or trauma-informed care is a plus.
