SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF with Security Clearance

Duties
• You will develop law enforcement programs, training schedules, personnel actions and operating plans for the Provost Marshal Office (PMO).
• You will review inspection reports and studies made by higher echelons and implement corrective action plans or make authoritative recommendations to resolve problems.
• You will assign work through subordinate supervisors and will be available to discuss problems and develop solutions.
• You will make periodic onsite inspections of law enforcement patrols.
• You will identify training needs of employees and direct the law enforcement training program throughout the PMO training team in accordance with program standards.

You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
• As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, must be able to train and wear individual protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots and gloves.
• This is a Mission Essential position.
You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.
You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• Position is subject to shift work, subject to 24-hour recall and maintain a 24-hour recall notification number and required to respond.
May be subject to being interrupted from meal or other breaks while on duty.
Overtime may be required.
• Must pass all weapons qualifications prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required.
Must carry firearms.
• Must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use of radar detection and alcohol detention equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable or collapsible baton and other certifications required to accomplish duties.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test.
You will be subject to random testing.
• This position does not meet the definition of law enforcement officer (LEO) and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity IAW 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H.
• Required to wear a uniform and sustain an appearance in accordance with program grooming standards per Marine Corps Orders/policies.
• May be required to respond to off base circumstances as directed by installation commanders, with USMC and DoD policy.
Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Must successfully complete a designated USMC Police Officers Course of Instruction and meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, CPR, AED, DoD and Joint Training Regulations.
Training may be conducted at a regional training or other designated facility.
As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, must be able to train and wear individual protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots and gloves.
If conducting law enforcement operations in navigable waters, must attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program at FLETC or a similar course.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Education No substitution of education or training may be made for the required specialized experience at the GS-06 level or above.
