Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for all nuclear projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and goals.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, development, and execution of nuclear projects, including site selection, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all nuclear projects adhere to regulatory standards and best practices for safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and community stakeholders to promote project success and address concerns.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the financial aspects of nuclear projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including engineers, project managers, regulatory specialists, and environmental experts.
- Innovation and Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and innovation in nuclear project methodologies, technologies, and processes to achieve operational excellence.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with nuclear projects, including technical, operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required. An advanced degree (MBA, MS, or Ph.D.) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in nuclear energy projects, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of nuclear project design, development, construction, and operations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Expertise in nuclear regulatory frameworks, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage large, diverse teams toward common goals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and resolve complex project issues.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Innovation: A forward-thinking mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in nuclear project execution.
Work Environment The Vice President of Nuclear Projects will primarily work in an office setting but will also be required to visit project sites regularly. This position may involve travel and working in challenging environments, including active construction sites and operational nuclear facilities.
