Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive real estate strategies that support the health system’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.
- Project Management: Oversee all phases of real estate and design projects, from inception to completion, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations in partnership with the Vice President of Construction.
- Budget Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for all real estate and construction projects, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational financial goals.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, and other external partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring optimal performance.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all projects comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with real estate and design activities.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project status, challenges, and successes to senior leadership, board members, and other key stakeholders.
- Innovation and Sustainability: Promote innovative practices and sustainable design in all real estate and design projects, enhancing the health system’s environmental stewardship.
- Manage real estate transactions including the purchase, sale, and leasing of various real estate assets in support of business unit initiatives and Fairview’s strategic plan. This includes strategy development, financial analysis, business term negotiation working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the lease administration of the real estate portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. Bachelor’s degree in real estate, construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is required.
- 15 years Progressive leadership experience in real estate and construction management.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing large-scale real estate and design projects, including new construction, renovation, and expansion initiatives.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of real estate market trends and design methodologies, project management best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team building, and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset and a results-driven approach.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to secure favorable terms with vendors, contractors, and other external partners.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.A./M.S. MBA
- Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the healthcare sector, including regulatory compliance, patient-centered design, and facility operations.
- Real Estate Broker’s license or certifications from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) such as CPM (Certified Property Manager)

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE).
