Jonathan is an accomplished entrepreneur, senior executive and recruitment services professional in the events and hospitality market. His broad experience in Australia, England and Europe have positioned him to be a highly sought-after professional for connecting many of the industry’s leading companies with top talent and innovative HR solutions.
Jonathan’s early career started with the InterContinental Hotel Sydney managing hotel operations and working as part of a VIP services team at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Internationally, he worked as events and staff manager with The Admirable Crichton supporting high-end events which included The Queen’s annual staff Christmas parties at Buckingham Palace, Prince William’s 21st birthday party at Windsor Castle, The British Fashion Awards and the Heads of State Dinner at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. As such, he is accustomed to clientele who demand the highest level of service.
From 2005, he transitioned from operations into sales with boutique lifestyle hotel collection Morgans Hotel Group. In 2007, a career opportunity in recruitment presented itself at the UK’s leading hospitality recruitment agency, Berkeley Scott, where he quickly became a top performer.
After moving back to Sydney in 2009, he became a director and shareholder with a start-up hospitality staffing agency, BENCHMARQUE, where he led the company’s business development and recruitment strategies through sustained growth and success.
During this period, Jonathan successfully led the development of a strategic partnership with The Star Entertainment Group and was the project lead for pre-opening recruitment for The Star's highly-acclaimed restaurants - Momofuku Seiobo, Sokyo, Black by Ezard, Osteria Balla Manfredi - and MARQUEE nightclub.
In 2017, he founded The Monday Group, with the desire to define a new generation of specialised executive recruitment, HR & talent engagement solutions for the events, hospitality and leisure industries in Australia.
Jonathan’s commitment to the industry has been recognized by the industry’s leading association, Meetings and Events Australia with whom he holds the accreditation of Associate-Fellow.
Jonathan also holds a Bachelor of Business (Hotel & Event Management).
