The Director ensures the functional strategy defined by Corporate Opportunity & Risk Management is implemented in the Regional Areas under his responsibility. This covers both, the independent review of client opportunities during business acquisition as well as independent project reviews during the delivery phase, considering Group and Corporate strategy besides Regional Area strategy. For this, we are looking for a Director to manage a team of highly experienced Regional (Senior) Managers Opportunity & Risk Management and Corporate Opportunity & Risk Managers, to coordinate all works, to meet Corporate timelines and requirements, and ensure all essential elements and activities during acquisition and delivery are considered.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Market-to-Contract:
    • Together with the Corporate team, execute Risk & Chance Assessments during the PIRA/TERA/TFU in line with CPORM Policy, ensure the defined “Risk Appetite” is considered and all standards are met
    • Provide independent recommendations under which conditions to proceed, and ensure such recommendations and the quality of work are consistent across Regional Areas
  • Initiate-to-Close:
    • Review and analyze project key performance, risk and chance indicators
    • Support and perform independent project reviews, deliver corresponding Risk & Chance Assessments, and advise on suitable mitigation measures covering the dimensions Technical, Execution & Schedule, Legal, Commercial/Finance, EHS
  • Management Processes:
    • Support of Group Project Reports so that they are in good quality and on time
  • Provide support, education and training to all management levels and staff to help build risk awareness within the organization, and to promote understanding of risk management procedures
  • Ensure policies & procedures are adequately communicated and known to those who need to know
  • Build reliable relationships with management and project teams within the organization to foster information sharing
  • Prepare and review Salesforce Opportunity List
  • Conduct audits of policies and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Facilitate Risk & Chance Workshops to allow for a systematic risk assessment, as well as evaluation and definition of mitigation measures. Supervise ongoing monitoring of risks and defined mitigation measures

Show your expertise

  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering or related field required
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience
  • 2+ years of Risk Management experience
  • Prior experience as a Project Manager, Commercial Manager or Lead Function Head required
  • Overall understanding of the engineering & construction industry from a Technical, Execution & Schedule, Legal, Commercial/Finance, EHS standpoint
  • Very strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, verbally and in writing
  • Excellent English speaker (both written and verbal)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Stress resilient, able to process a high volume of information in a short period of time
  • Capability to interact in a multicultural environment and on all management levels
  • Capability to diplomatically challenge the status-quo
  • Autonomous, proactive & self-organized
