Testing Head

Position Description We are seeking a resource, in a senior management position, who will own and operate the entire Software Product Testing and Quality Assurance function for all current and future products of the Division. The responsibilities will include a process-driven and metrics-obedient method of managing the entire function , beyond the Unit testing by the Product Development teams. The role is also expected to provide necessary leadership to the accuracy of the company’s product collaterals, Context Help, User manuals, technical and commercial proposals and to higher efficiency in providing warranty and AMC support by company’s support teams.

The role will take key responsibility to the quality and usability of the company’s products along with the Development and Delivery teams.

Key Skills Overall relevant industry experience of 15-20 years including significant years in IT/ IS Products and Services.

Specific Software experience of at least 8 years which should include direct and hands-on exposure, leading and guiding teams in testing Software Products and Software Services. This will include alternative Testing methodologies, Testing strategy creation, Test bed and test cases preparations and automation of all these functions.

Very strong exposure to and knowledge of Design, coding/testing, Configuration management, sizing, database management across multiple domains.

Very strong in Testing automation, Performance Testing , Security testing, Database optimisation.

Acquired functionality related knowledge in BFSI domain.

Awareness, direct prior exposure to CMMi and other process requirements.

Strong people skills and communication skills.

A very high standard in personal deportation and oral and written communications an absolute must.

Ability to work under sharp time deadlines, ability to think on feet and discipline to work within the processes of a global organisation are necessary requirements.

Other skills Exposure to Software Product development processes and Software Product implementations and support.

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task.

Self-learner with demonstrated skills in and passion for Software Product industry.

Educational Qualification Engineer/ MBA.Exposure to CMMi a Must.

Responsibilities and expectations: The incumbent will inherit the existing Testing and QA teams in the Division and will recruit/ train/ develop and implement processes to deliver High impact testing and QA efforts to significantly enhance company’s product offerings and in reducing defect costs.

As part of the QA function, the role will include review of and providing leadership inputs to company’s marketing and pre-sales efforts.

Significant and continuous contribution to the Knowledge management function within the company.

The incumbent will own and significantly build up Relevant Metrics on Quality, and plan and implement Defect reduction programs in conjunction with the Product development teams product.

Provide proactive and responsive inputs to Product enhancements, Technology upgrades and corporate processes.

Provide contents and inputs for enhancement to the Internal Training Programs within the Division for improving the Product knowledge and market knowledge.

Motivate, retain and recruit qualified and skills candidates to keep the Testing teams and QA teams overall in required skills readiness and numbers.
